It’s now August, so time for a new monthly favourites. It’s still Winter here in Australia but luckily not long now until Spring! I’m excited to escape the cold weather, and looking forward to warmer days. Anyways, now time to take a look at my July Favourites.
I got suckered into buying these cute Etude House Darling Lip Talks lipsticks as the cases were just too cute to resist. My favourite cases were the Fries and Vitamin designs as they are so fun and adorable. I really like that they are customisable and love to mix and match the cases. Apart from the adorable cases, my favourite colour was of course #GR701 – a fun color changing pastel blue lipstick that changes to a soft pink shade upon application. It gives the lips a nice natural pink colour that blends and enhances your natural lip colour so will suit all skin tones and lips! If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen this cute lipsticks in some of my recent posts.
I have been using this Triple C Lightning Liquid for a couple of months now and have been loving the results I am seeing. My skin has definitely changed for the better. I actually just posted a review of this recently, you can check out my full review here: Cosrx Triple C Lightning Liquid Serum.
July was quite a busy month of long days and late nights, which isn’t particular great for the body or my skin. This meant in July breakouts and pesky pimples made an unwanted appearance on my face. These Cosrx pimple patches really were a life saver and helped to keep my uninvited guests on my face in check!
2017 is really flying by so quickly and it’s already the 2nd week of June, so a time for a new monthly favourites. It’s officially winter here in Sydney and the weather is getting quite chilly. Below are some things that have helped me to make it through this cooler weather. Winter is by far my least favourite season as I completely hate the cold! Now on to the favourites.
First up is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask which is a product that I’ve used since last year. I especially love using this during Winter as cooler weather tends to lead to dry skin and chapped lips, especially with all the hours spent sitting in front of a heater! This lip mask has been a completed life (or lip) saver.
I’ve always loved using the Innisfree Green Tea balancing cream but I thought I’d change it up and try something new. I heard lots of great things about the Orchid line products, and this cream was one of the raved about items. I finally came around to trying this out and completely see why it so well loved! The cream is super moisturising and has a subtle flowery smell that isn’t too overpowering. This cream is a bit on the heavier side and is more moisturising than the Green Tea cream so is better suited for use during winter months or for those with normal to dry skin types. After application, my skin feels soft, supple and very well moisturised.
Colder weather means dry flakey skin, at least for me, so this Neogen Bio Peel Gauze Peeling Pads in Wine have been my go to exfoliator to get rid of any dry patches on my face. I love these peeling pads as they help to exfoliate my skin yet isn’t too abbrasive so doesn’t irritate my skin. I love that the peeling pads are so full of essence that it is practically dripping which is awesome as it helps to add moisture back into the skin whilst I exfoliate.
This blusher is a beautiful coral peach shade that is fun, youthful and gives a nice subtle flushed looked. This blusher helps to brighten up the dull rainy winter days! I love that it looks really natural and is quite pigmented so I don’t need to apply much for the colour to show up on my cheeks.
I like to use this powder foundation on top of my BB cushion or BB cream on days I want some extra coverage. This shade matches my skin tone completely and blends in seemlessly. I also love that the coverage is buildable and doesn’t cake on my skin, so gives a very natural finish, and almost looks like I’m not wearing any makeup at all!
I’ve finally come around to properly unpacking organising my travel haul and realised how much shopping I actually did! So my travel haul will be split in two parts, makeup and then skincare. I’ve always been a bit of a shopaholic and it didn’t help that there happened to be a lot of sales on whilst I was in Korea! Anyways, now on to the haul.
I couldn’t resist getting this blusher as not only is the colour a lovely peachy coral blush with a slight shimmer but the case is equally adorable. The blusher comes in compact little case with a fluffy puff at the bottom so is perfect to pack in your makeup bag for touch-ups during the day! Also, the puff is removable so you are able to pull it off to clean it or swap out your dirty used puffs for a clean one if you’re not bothered to wash it!
Every mascara that I have used thus far has immediately restored my eyelashes back to its stick straight form right after applying it on my curled lashes. So, I’m still on the hunt for (and yet to find) a good mascara that can hold my short but thick eyelashes in a curl! I stumbled upon this two-step long lash mascara whilst browsing the April Skin products in store and decided to give this a try.
I decided to give this primer a try since I loved another product from this line, the Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder. To be honest Innisfree is one of my favourite k-beauty brands and there hasn’t really been a product that I have tried that I didn’t like!
I recently dyed (& bleached) my hair again so it is now a fair bit lighter so needed a lighter shade of eyebrow gel to match my hair as the one I currently have was for my previously darker hair colour.
It’s already May which means it’s time for a new monthly favourites! I’ve had an exciting but busy few months with travelling and getting back into work. This month’s faves is a combination of February to April since it’s been a while since my last one!
I’m currently loving the VDL + Pantone Lip Cube in the shade 504 Marsala, which like the shade name is a lovely reddish-brown wine colour. The texture is really creamy, soft and moisturising and has a satin finish. I found that even without using lip balm before applying it went on smoothly and evenly, and did not accentuate any dry patches at all! The Lip Cube is very pigmented so you only need to apply one layer to get the shade. I love that the packaging itself looks simple and sleek. The lipstick is shaped into a small triangle to allow easy and precise application on the cupids bow.
Yes, it’s another VDL + Pantone collaboration product on my favourites list (what can I say, I’m a sucker for packaging!). The eyeshadow palettes some in a pretty nude pink case with a large mirror that is more than big enough to use for applying your makeup, so it’s perfect for when you’re travelling. I love the cute and fun little details of the Pantone numbers being listed below each shade. The brush that comes with the palette isn’t particularly good at applying/blending and I found it to just flick the powder around, making a mess with lots of fallout under my eyes. Though that isn’t much of an issue for me as I like to use my fingers to apply and blend out eyeshadows anyways. Other than the nice Pantone collaboration packaging, I did really love the shades on this palette too. On my recent trip overseas I brought this palette along with me as it had a great selection of 12 beautiful everyday shades ranging from nude pinks to browns, and included matte, shimmer and glitter eyeshadows. The eyeshadows were easy to blend and not the most pigmented but this is easily solved by applying a good eyeshadow primer before application or layering up til you reach the desired shade.
Travelling means long days which is why I’ve been loving this Banila Co Primer. I’ve been using this to prime my face before applying my makeup and found it to really help my makeup last longer especially during my time in Singapore where the humid weather really makes it difficult for any makeup to survive very long! The primer also helps to fill in my pores, has a nice matte finish and leaves skin feeling really soft and silky. The texture reminds me a bit of Benefits Porefessional Pore Primer.
The first month of 2017 has now passed, so it’s time for a new (and my first!) monthly favourites! Be warned, this post is a little on the long side as there was a lot of things on my favourites list this month! So sit back and enjoy reading.
It’s been quite a hot month in Australia, with 30-40 degree weather and I’m currently in Singapore where it has been quite hot as well! So a lot of my favourites this month have helped me survive this summer heat!
I get pretty lazy to put on body lotion during Summer since I hate feeling sticky and greasy. So I loved to use this body mist when I’m in a rush to leave the house but feel my skin needs a moisture boost. This body mist moisturises my skin without leaving any oily residue. It also has a lovely fruity scent that isn’t too overpowering and fades within an hour.
The Sensi White Lotion, though called a lotion is actually very watery and clear in colour, almost like a toner but moisturising. I like to pour this into a travel sized mist bottle I bought from Daiso to use as a facial mist for when my face is feeling dry. The lotion also works very well as a toner and manages to remove any remaining makeup that wasn’t removed with your makeup remover.
Before buying this toner, I heard lots of great review about how great it is. I was slightly hesitant to try it myself as I’ve never been much of a fan of anything rose – scented or flavoured. I was pleasantly surprised though as I have now completely fallen in love with this toner! The rose scent isn’t too overpowering and is actually quite soothing. The bottle I bought is actually the large 500ml one but it also comes in a smaller version too. After cleansing, I like to pour a small amount onto a cotton pad and swipe over my face. The toner adds back some moisture to my face and helps me to relax before bed as the scent is so calming.
