November is here, Christmas is just around the corner and it’s almost the end of 2017! I know it seems like I say this A LOT but really, wow this year has flown by! I didn’t post a monthly favourites for September so this October favourites will be a combination of both months.
These past couple months have been very eventful for me. One of the highlights of these past two months would have to be in September when I went to KCON Australia 2017! KCON was an exciting, fun and memorable two days as I got to see lots of great artists perform live including some of my favourites such as Wanna One, Monsta X, EXO and more. I was also lucky enough to get the opportunity to get hi-touch passes for two artists I most wanted to see – Wanna One and Monsta X. It definitely was an unforgettable and unique experience that I was very fortunate to have and will never forget!
Anyways, enough with the catchup for the past few months…Now time for my monthly favourites.
I actually received this Cosrx cushion from StyleKorean a few months ago to test and review. And, I’ve been enjoying using this ever since I started using it because it has amazing coverage. With the weather warming up here in Sydney and Summer just a few weeks away, this cushion has been the one I’ve been reaching for the most! A light application of this cushion evens out my skin tone well and has a matte finish. I posted a full review of this cushion in September, you can read more here.
I’ve been using this eye cream for a couple of months now and realised how much I love it. Innisfree is definitely one of my fave skincare brands since they make great affordable products, and the Orchid Eye Cream doesn’t disappoint. I also loved the Orchid Enriched Cream from the same line, which was in a previous monthly favourites. This tub comes with a generous 30mL of eye cream which may not sound like a lot, but believe me a little of this cream goes a long way so will definitely last a while! The cream has a nice floral scent that isn’t too strong and leaves the skin around my eyes feeling smooth, soft and moisturised.
This mask has been great for me on days when I want a full skincare routine without all the effort. This bubble mask is a pretty pink colour that bubbles up to a white foam once applied to the face. When the masks begins bubbling up there is a slightly ticklish sensation that is a little strange at first but not unpleasant. The awesome thing about this mask is that it only needs 2 minutes to take effect and for the bubbles to fully form. Once rinsed away my skin felt soft, smooth and refreshed. I then followed with the rest of my usual skincare routine. It’s such a perfect no-fuss, quick and easy mask that requires little effort which I love!
I decided to finally try out this much raved about Son & Park Beauty Water. It is a multipurpose toner that also doubles as a cleansing water. The Beauty Water helps to cleanse, exfoliate and also moisturise the skin gently without the use of any harmful ingredients. I love that it is so gentle yet cleanses and tones my skin well to leave it feeling moisturised and refreshed.
The Ordinary (Deciem) are definitely a much hyped about and popular skincare brand since they make affordable and high-quality products. I have tried a fair few of them myself and none of them have disappointed. This Organic Rose Hip Seed Oil has been a part of my regular night-time skincare routine lately and my skin has been happier because of it! A couple drips of this oil gently patted and massaged into my skin as my last skincare step has helped to lock in all the moisture. This oil has kept my skin feeling and looking hydrated and soft.
BTS is one of my top favourite kpop groups so it was no surprise that I loved this track. Although, I honestly wasn’t a fan of this song when I first heard it as it was quite different from their usual tracks. Nevertheless, after hearing it a few times I was hooked as it’s catchy, fun and a refreshing new sound for them.
I actually got hooked on this song after hearing Girl’s Day perform this live at KCON and immediately added it to my playlist ! I don’t really follow or keep up with them but I have to admit this song is addictive and it was stuck in my head for a while.
JBJ’s 1st mini-album “Fantasy” has a nice variety of tracks that I enjoyed listening to. My faves would have to be “Fantasy” (the title track) and “Like a Dream”. “Fantasy” is a catchy dance track with a sexy concept and choreography that JBJ pulled off. Contrastingly, “Like a Dream” is a slow, sweet and soothing ballad that showcase their voices more.
I always love B1A4 as they are such a fun and talented bunch. Their latest title track “Rolling” is a catchy and fun track that makes you want to sing along too!
Upbeat and catchy dance tracks are definitely Blackpink’s signature style and “As If It’s Your Last” fits straight into that area. It’s fun, addictive and is very much a dance/party track.
Okay so honestly speaking, I did not really think much of Gashina the first time I heard it. Though, after hearing it mentioned on lots of variety shows and seeing lots of different artists replicating the choreography or singing along it started to grow on me! It definitely is an addictively catchy song that when it gets into your head it’s hard to get out.
“Younger” is centred around Liza who is a 40 year old single mother who wants to restart her career in publishing. After realising how difficult it is to get a job at her age she decides to pretend to be a 26 year old to make her odds better. Liza (Sutton Foster) is funny, relatable and adorable, in her own awkward way. Foster does a great job at making Liza such a lovable character that you want to root for. “Younger” is never boring and is such great fun to watch. The whole cast is amazing and have such great chemistry together. I binged all 4 seasons so quickly and am currently impatiently waiting for season 5!
So this is a cooking reality show in Korea with a twist. There is usually 2 celebrity guests on the show that will have their fridges brought in to the set. The chefs will compete to make a dish using the ingredients from the guest’s fridge that will best suit their tastes. Even though I don’t often cook, I actually do enjoy to cook and bake whenever I have spare time. This show really inspired me to experiment and try to cook more recipes…and even taught me a few things too. It surprised and amazed me how these chefs managed to put together a full dish (or sometimes multiple) within such a short space of time and with limited ingredients.
So that’s a wrap for my favourites for the past 2 months!
What were some of your favourites in October? Also, have you tried or seen any of my faves above?
