2017 is really flying by so quickly and it’s already the 2nd week of June, so a time for a new monthly favourites. It’s officially winter here in Sydney and the weather is getting quite chilly. Below are some things that have helped me to make it through this cooler weather. Winter is by far my least favourite season as I completely hate the cold! Now on to the favourites.
First up is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask which is a product that I’ve used since last year. I especially love using this during Winter as cooler weather tends to lead to dry skin and chapped lips, especially with all the hours spent sitting in front of a heater! This lip mask has been a completed life (or lip) saver.
I’ve always loved using the Innisfree Green Tea balancing cream but I thought I’d change it up and try something new. I heard lots of great things about the Orchid line products, and this cream was one of the raved about items. I finally came around to trying this out and completely see why it so well loved! The cream is super moisturising and has a subtle flowery smell that isn’t too overpowering. This cream is a bit on the heavier side and is more moisturising than the Green Tea cream so is better suited for use during winter months or for those with normal to dry skin types. After application, my skin feels soft, supple and very well moisturised.
Colder weather means dry flakey skin, at least for me, so this Neogen Bio Peel Gauze Peeling Pads in Wine have been my go to exfoliator to get rid of any dry patches on my face. I love these peeling pads as they help to exfoliate my skin yet isn’t too abbrasive so doesn’t irritate my skin. I love that the peeling pads are so full of essence that it is practically dripping which is awesome as it helps to add moisture back into the skin whilst I exfoliate.
This blusher is a beautiful coral peach shade that is fun, youthful and gives a nice subtle flushed looked. This blusher helps to brighten up the dull rainy winter days! I love that it looks really natural and is quite pigmented so I don’t need to apply much for the colour to show up on my cheeks.
I like to use this powder foundation on top of my BB cushion or BB cream on days I want some extra coverage. This shade matches my skin tone completely and blends in seemlessly. I also love that the coverage is buildable and doesn’t cake on my skin, so gives a very natural finish, and almost looks like I’m not wearing any makeup at all!
Beige ‘We Bare Bear’ Sweater
I admit that whilst in Korea this year I bought way too many sweaters. I couldn’t resist as they were not only super cute (and everywhere!) but very affordable. This was by far my favourite one I bought. The three little bears that were embroidered on the front were just too adorable! I loved that it came in a nice neutral beige colour, which makes it easy to match with most outfits! Honestly, who could resist the cuteness!
TopTen White Knit Sweater
This oversized white knit sweater has been one of my go-to sweaters that I chuck on along with a pair of jeans for those lazy days. I bought this sweater from TopTen during my last trip to Korea. The sweater is comfy, stylish and has 70% wool so is super warm and cosy, perfect for Winter.
So yes, I am a little slow with keeping up with songs as I tend to update my playlist every couple of months in batches. After adding these tracks to my playlist I’ve played them on repeat! I especially love ‘Really Really’ as it has such a catchy, fun and energetic beat that makes you want to sing along and dance to. Fool is also a great track that is a lot more mellow and soothing and a great song to wind down and relax to.
‘365 Fresh’ has been my go-to mood booster song as it has such a cool chill vibe that’s upbeat, fun and funky! It kind of reminds me of Bruno Mars style of funk music. The MV for this song was also quite interesting and very well made & acted by all of Triple H. Although the theme for the MV was quite dark which contrasted the song’s upbeat sound and lyrics, nevertheless I still enjoyed watching it.
Ever since I heard Vromance’s live performances & acoustic videos I fell in love with their voices! They are amazingly talented which can be expected as they are from the same record label as Mamamoo, and their brother group! They have a distinctive retro style sound just like Mamamoo so when I first heard this track whilst watching the kdrama ‘Strong Woman Do Bong Soon OST’, I instantly knew it was them and fell in love with the song. ‘Am I In Love” really showcases their beautiful voices well. The song is so sweet and soothing, fitting for a rom-com drama!
Produce 101 Season 2
I tend not to watch many reality shows especially of the singing variety as there are just so many out there. But after hearing so much about it I decided to finally give it a try, and what can I say? I was hooked after the first episode and completely invested in seeing who would make it ’til the end. There is definitely a lot of talented singers, dancers and rappers on the show. I loved watching all the contestants grow and it was fun seeing all the behind the scenes footage leading up to the performance nights. Sadly it’s ending really soon!
I have been searching for some new shows to watch as many of my favourites are now going on break, and after hearing a lot of good reviews for ‘This Is Us’ I gave it a try. I really loved how relatable all the characters were and seeing them grow throughout the season. The acting was amazing and though this isn’t an action or thriller, I found myself gripped and wanting to watch the next episode.
That’s it for my May Favourites.
