All About Ah Skincare + Review

Ah Skincare Review Post

I was kindly sent a box of lovely skincare goodies to try out by Ah…Skincare last month. I received three face skincare products perfect for my combination skin and one body care product as well. I have been using them for a while now so thought it was the perfect time to post up a review and to talk a bit about Ah…Skincare.

About Ah Skincare

Ah Skincare was founded in 2014 by Andrea Hutchins and is all about organic skincare packed full of goodies for your skin. All their formulas have at least 85% organic ingredients, are all handmade and free from all the nasties such as parabens, sulphates, mineral oils, any animal testing and more! The formulas for their skincare products are also PH balanced so will not disrupt the acid mantle, the skins natural defence barrier. Ah Skincare has a variety of products to suit all skin types, even for those with sensitive skin as they focus on creating natural products that are kind to the skin. So, now on to the reviews.

Ah Skincare Skin Brightening Radiance Cleanser

Skin Brightening Radiance Cleanser

This Radiance Cleanser is meant to gently cleanse the skin whilst also nourishing and protecting it. It comes in a clear PET bottle with a turn to open/close pump that easily dispenses the perfect amount of product. In terms of scent,  it has a fruity and soft scent that is subtle and not too strong which I enjoyed. The formula contains lots of natural and organic ingredients including extracts from fruits such as mango, strawberry, lemon, cranberry and more. The cleanser itself is white in colour and has a creamy texture. I pump out a small amount and gentle massage it onto my damp skin then rinse off with water. Though it has a creamy texture, I was expecting it to foam or bubble up but instead when massaged onto wet skin it is silky and slippery and cleanses the skin well in a gentle way. I liked how soft my skin felt after using this cleanser. It left my skin feeling moisturised and not dry or tight which is great as I hate cleansers that dry out and strip away all the skin’s natural oils in the process of cleansing.

Ah Skincare Skin Brightening Witch Hazel Toner

Skin Brightening Witch Hazel Toner

This Skin Brightening Toner is a lightweight yet moisturising toner that is alcohol free and contains witch hazel.   The toner comes in a clear PET bottle with a spray nozzle with a cap. The spray nozzle works well in dispensing a fine and even mist of toner. It has a unique scent that starts off slightly sweet and fruity, which I think comes from the grapefruit essential oil, followed by a distinct and slightly stronger smell that is probably from the witch hazel. Overall the scent is interesting and pleasant, and fades away almost immediately after applying it to the skin. The toner aims to help protect the skin and maintain the natural pH level of the skin. After cleansing, I spray a small amount of toner onto a cotton wool pad and lightly swipe over my face to gently remove any makeup or impurities. I sometimes like to spray some on my face during the day when my skin is in need of a quick refresher. I like how soothing this toner is (probably as it contains aloe vera leaf juice) and how refreshed my skin feels after.

Ah Skincare Tomato & Carrot Shine Control Day and Night Moisturiser

Tomato & Carrot Shine Control Day and Night Moisturiser

This Tomato and Carrot Moisturiser is definitely my favourite of the bunch. It comes in a slim airless pump bottle that makes it easy to control and pump out the correct amount of product. The moisturiser is full of vitamins and minerals to help reduce shine, refine the pores and is also anti-aging. I like to pump out a small amount onto my hands and gently massage it on my face and neck. I love how soft, smooth and hydrated my skin feels after and how it does not leave any of the usual sticky, oily or tacky feeling that other creams with sunscreen sometimes have.

Style Korean Skincare Haul

Style Korean Skincare HaulI’m always on the lookout to try new skincare products that are both moisturising and good for acne-prone skin. On that note, I was super excited to receive these lovely skincare goodies from Style Korean.  In this Style Korean Skincare Haul I have products from Benton and Cosrx that are known for having lots of great skincare products including many aimed for acne prone skin types. I’ll be posting up a review for all these items later on my blog after trying them out for a good amount of time.

Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel

Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel

First up in this haul is the Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel which is aimed at those who have sensitive and trouble skin. The gel is said to contain 80% Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice that is rich in polysaccharides (helps to hydrate and retain moisture in the skin) and 10% Propolis Extract (known to have soothing properties). I was so excited to try out this Benton Aloe Gel now that it’s winter and my skin is drier than usual, especially with the many hours I spend sitting in front of a heater! I love that this aloe gel is free of alcohol, water, parabens, mineral oil and other harmful ingredients, but instead only uses natural extracts and natural preservatives. I’ve already started using it for a couple days as a daytime moisturiser, and so far so good! The aloe gel is a clear coloured gel (not green, yay to no articial colours!) that is lightweight with only a slight and almost non-existent scent.

Benton Honest TT Tea Tree Mist

Benton Honest TT Mist

I love using a good face mist thoroughout the day, and usually like to pop one in my bag or on my desk. I like to spritz some face mist on my face whenever it’s feeling a little dry and in need of an extra moisture boost. I’m keen on trying this mist out as I’ve only really used the Avene Thermal Spring Water spray and as much as I love it, I want to try something new! This Benton Honest Line of products is about presenting honest ingredients that consumers can be assured of using on their skin. This TT (Tea Tree) Mist contains Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water instead of water, Hyaluronic Acid and other botanical extracts to hyrdate the skin and have a cooling effect. This face mist is meant to help to ‘improve rough and damaged skin from stress and pollution’.

Cosrx Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask

Cosrx Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask

I love a good leave-in sleeping mask as they are great for giving your skin that extra bit of hydration. That being said, I have yet to find one that I truly love (drop me a comment if you know of one, would love to know!). Cosrx is such a well loved brand by many beauty bloggers and known for their acne-prone targeted skincare lines, so hopefully this Cosrx Honey Overnight Mask will not disappoint. This mask is enriched with over 85% propolis extract and natural bees wax to provide ‘intensive hyrdation with refreshing moisture’.

Travel Haul Part 1: Makeup

Travel Makeup Haul FlatlayI’ve finally come around to properly unpacking organising my travel haul and realised how much shopping I actually did! So my travel haul will be split in two parts, makeup and then skincare. I’ve always been a bit of a shopaholic and it didn’t help that there happened to be a lot of sales on whilst I was in Korea! Anyways, now on to the haul.

Makeup haul blushers and moreToo Cool For School Play Cheek Angel Blusher #02 Sweet Peach

I couldn’t resist getting this blusher as not only is the colour a lovely peachy coral blush with a slight shimmer but the case is equally adorable. The blusher comes in compact little case with a fluffy puff at the bottom so is perfect to pack in your makeup bag for touch-ups during the day! Also, the puff is removable so you are able to pull it off to clean it or swap out your dirty used puffs for a clean one if you’re not bothered to wash it!

April Skin Magic-Cara Long Lash & Skinny Mascara

Every mascara that I have used thus far has immediately restored my eyelashes back to its stick straight form right after applying it on my curled lashes. So, I’m still on the hunt for (and yet to find) a good mascara that can hold my short but thick eyelashes in a curl! I stumbled upon this two-step long lash mascara whilst browsing the April Skin products in store and decided to give this a try.

Innisfree No-Sebum Blur Primer

I decided to give this primer a try since I loved another product from this line, the Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder. To be honest Innisfree is one of my favourite k-beauty brands and there hasn’t really been a product that I have tried that I didn’t like!

Etude House Color My Brows Eyebrow Gel #03 Red Brown

I recently dyed (& bleached) my hair again so it is now a fair bit lighter so needed a lighter shade of eyebrow gel to match my hair as the one I currently have was for my previously darker hair colour.

The Saem Saemmul Eye Primer

After running out of my Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion I was in store for a new eyeshadow primer so thought I’d give this a try, plus it was super cheap.
